OWC Envoy 2TB Ultra Thunderbolt 5 Portable SSD Enclosure External Drive, Ultra Fast with TB5 Transfer Rates Over 6000MB/s, TB3, TB4 and USB4

**Editorial Review of the OWC Envoy 2TB Ultra Thunderbolt 5 Portable SSD Enclosure** The OWC Envoy 2TB Ultra Thunderbolt 5 Portable SSD Enclosure is receiving high praise for its impressive performance and build quality, establishing itself as a standout option for users seeking both speed and reliability in external storage solutions. Users report outstanding transfer speeds that reach over 3000MB/s when connected to Thunderbolt 4 devices, positioning it favorably against other external SSDs on the market. Customers anticipate even higher speeds with the future adoption of Thunderbolt 5, creating an appealing future-proof option for tech enthusiasts. One of the notable advantages highlighted in user feedback is stability—many note that this drive has performed excellently without the self-eject issues that plagued previous USB-C SSDs experiences. This stability, combined with fast read and write capabilities, makes it a great choice for users who require dependable performance for both storage and workflow enhancement. The design of the OWC Envoy features a solid aluminum case which not only lends to its durability but also assists in heat dissipation during extended use. Some users mentioned that the drive does heat up but they also noted that it remains within a reasonable operating temperature. The incorporation of a permanently attached Thunderbolt cable simplifies connectivity at the expense of flexibility, which has garnered mixed feelings from some customers. Despite the premium price tag, many users feel the performance and reliability justify the investment, especially for those who intend to use the drive for an extended period. However, the initial high cost and necessary reformatting for Windows compatibility are aspects to Consider for potential buyers. In summary, the OWC Envoy 2TB Ultra Thunderbolt 5 Portable SSD Enclosure impresses users with its speed, stability, and quality build, reaffirming OWC's reputation for crafting high-performance storage solutions. **
