Box Sets ANI0634 Editorial Review
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Standard Edition) is a cornerstone of anime history, crafted by visionary Hideaki Anno. It explores complex themes through the journey of Shinji Ikari, a reluctant 14-year-old pilot tasked with defending humanity from bizarre alien invaders known as Angels. The series stands out not only for its innovative approach to mecha battles but also for its deep psychological character explorations, akin to what WATCHMEN achieved in comics. Viewers appreciate the series' ambitious narrative and emotional weight, highlighting its lasting impact on pop culture. Despite a polarizing ending, the anime has generated discussions for decades, cementing its place in the hearts of many enthusiasts.
