It is warm enough to be a base layer for men in extreme cold weather. However, some customers have commented that the material is rather thin and not as warm as they expected. The sizing chart provided on the Amazon Nooyme sales page is accurate, which makes it easy for customers to choose the correct size. The material is made of spandex Lycra, which is not very warm for some customers. Although the suit is not meant for wearing in the sun, the reason for this is not clear.
