The Waldorf Streichfett String Synthesizer Desktop Module is a synth capable of producing some incredible, cool sounds, but it may take some time to learn how to get the precise sound you want. The built-in FX and ability to assign separate midi channels to the string and solo sections allow for some unique sonic possibilities. The onboard effects were a bit weak, but the chorus is a standout feature, creating a tense background string effect. Some users experienced buzzing noises and issues with linking to Logic Pro. The string patches may sound overdriven and distorted, but the synth section is not as bad. The synthesizer is capable of some classic sounds and is easy to use with intuitive controls.
